One of the things we love most about Australia is the climate. In less than a month it will be winter and we still can have a picnic on the beach without freezing. Today we were in Avalon. One of the many beautiful northern beaches.
Apart from the glorious sunshine and the enjoyment of watching the surfers showing off their impressive skills on the waves we were incredibly lucky to witness a very rare and beautiful spectacle of nature:
The migration of the sandturtles towards the sea! These shy little creatures can only be seen once a year after a full moon. As soon as the sun begins to set they hatch from the sand heading for the water only to be swept away by the current as soon as they reach it.
