Vivid Sydney

For the third time the annual winterfestival "Vivid Sydney" is taking place with stunning light installations around Circular Quay and The Rocks and loads of concerts around town. (www.vividsydney.com). After 6p.m. the lights go on and we went and had a look. It was great and even a bit of rain didn't deter the crowds. After all a winter night in the city still has around 10 degrees. No freezing your butt off like in Europe...
Dieses Jahr findet zum dritten mal Sydneys Winterfestival "Vivid Sydney" statt. Mit vielen Lichteffekten, Skulpturen und Konzerten. Um 18 Uhr gehen die Lichter an. Wir haben sie uns angesehen und auch ein bisschen Regen konnte uns (und tausende andere) nicht davon abhalten. Schliesslich hat eine Winternacht in Sydney an die 10 Grad und man friert sich nicht wie in Europa den A... ab!

First we went to Customs House where large-scale image projection experts "The Electric Canvas" transform this iconic sandstone architecture with a series of 3D-mapped animation sequences. (Video further down in the next post).

Customs House ist eines der ältesten Gebäude in Sydney und wird mit 3D-Effekten angestrahlt.

Walk along the Quay towards Campbells Cove and you meet these lovely creatures, they are called Jellilights.
Diese lustigen Kreaturen heissen Jellilights und stehen am Circular Quay.

And of course Lighting the Sails of our beautiful Opera House this year superbly done by the french team of Superbien is always a stunner!
Die bunt angestrahlten Segel des Opernhauses sind natürlich der absolute Höhepunkt.
