This weekend we paid another visit to Taronga Zoo. There is actually a lot more to it than just countless exotic animals. It's beautitul setting with great views over the harbour and the opera house are an attraction on its own. There are also picnic areas, a playground, childrens zoo and lots of interesting shows and the zoo keepers are very keen to share their knowledge and passion with anyone who is interested. We watched the "spider show" and saw a "Sydney Funnel Web", the deadliest spider in the world (safely locked up in a container!!!) We also got close (more than I really was comfortable with) to a "Redback" (a relative of the american Black Widow as we learned) and a harmless but scary big "Huntsman". In all the excitement we totally forgot to take any spider photos. Maybe that's not a bad thing...
Apart from that we had lots of fun feeding sheep at the petting zoo.
